Esther Ripplinger is the President and CEO of Human Life of Washington, the state affiliate of the National Right to Life Committee. A leader in the pro-life movement since 2002, Ripplinger is known for her visionary leadership and strategic innovation. During her tenure, she launched numerous flourishing initiatives—so impactful that it ultimately took four individuals to carry on the work she pioneered. Her efforts continue to shape the direction of pro-life advocacy in Washington and beyond
Ripplinger’s journey began during her first week working at Oregon Right to Life, when she broke free from denial about her own abortion experience and sought transformational healing. This pivotal moment inspired the creation of an unprecedented initiative: a speakers bureau made up of post-abortive women who had found healing and were willing to share their stories before the Oregon State Legislature.
Her personal testimony has been shared at numerous high-profile venues. She has testified before Oregon’s Judiciary Committee and contributed to two amicus curiae briefs submitted to the United States Supreme Court. Her story has been featured on the BBC London’s Eddie Mair Show and Fox News’ Special Report with Bret Baier. She is also a recurring speaker at National Right to Life conventions.
Ripplinger is the co-founder of SMART Women’s Healthcare, a national grassroots initiative that leverages the best available science to ensure women receive full disclosure regarding the risks and complications of abortion. The program focuses on educating both professionals and policymakers nationwide.
Throughout her career, Ripplinger has collaborated with national and international leaders in the abortion recovery movement, championing compassionate, informed, and ethical care for women. From 2006 to 2008, her collaboration with a local pregnancy support center led to a doubling of client services within just six months.
